Hairs and hair removal

If you are not happy with shaving, waxing or tweezing noticeable or unwanted hairs (on the face, legs, arms, back, underarms, bikini ...) then laser might be the right option for you.

The technique explained

Laser hair removal uses light to target the melanine of your hairs. The pigments in the hair absorb the light beam and convert it into heat. The heat travels down into the follicle and destroys it partly or completely.

Because hairs follow a 3 stage growth cycle, the whole treatment requires several sessions (usually around 6). Hairs in a "resting phase" are not visible to the practitioner nor to the laser. Those will grow back, more slowly and lighter. they will eventually disappear when the area is treated again (6 to 8 weeks later depending on the zone).

The Patch Test

A patch-test is compulsory before starting the course of treatment to adjust the settings of the equipment - depending on your skin type and the coarseness of your hairs on the different areas. This will prevent possible complications (like burning, temporary redness or swelling).

The treatment cannot be performed on a tattoo.

A numbing cream can be applied on very sensitive areas but the cooling device on the machine is usually enough to maintain the discomfort at a low level.

You should shave the day before the treatment

It is important to avoid sun exposition before and after the treatment so as not to damage the skin
